Our name is derived from the combination of a common abbreviation for Williamson County, WILCO, and the Greek goddess of the rainbow, IRIS, who was also the messenger of the gods. As Iris connected the gods, we hope to provide an avenue for powerful and meaningful connection among LGBTQIA+ youth.

The symbol for Iris is a rainbow over a star, which we have adapted to create our logo. A very simple, monochromatic rainbow, reminiscent of the most primitive Iris symbology, is combined with an altered version of a nautical star, which symbolizes protection, guidance, and finding one’s way home when lost in life or travel. Colors associated with LGBTQIA+ flags have been included on the star and our name is placed at the bottom to round out and balance the logo.
